Ordinary Miracles

This is a blog about my adventure to Chile, and how every day I want to be a witness to all of the ordinary miracles that surround me. Sometimes, just recognizing the ordinary miracles makes us realize just how extraordinary they really are.

As one we walk this Earth together…

That is a line from a song that we have circle danced to twice now and I absolutely love it- both the song and the dance. I was not familiar with circle dance before I came to Chile, but here it is very popular. I love it because anyone can do it and the movement of everyone in a circle is very fluid and tranquil. The dances range in difficulty, and some of them can be quite hard, but for the most part once you learn the specific steps its really very easy. Holding hands is customary for most of the dances as well, so that offers a sense of connectedness to everyone in the group.

In a sense, we are all walking through life together, even though it may be in different directions or at different paces, we are all together. The cirlcle dance is very representative of that unity we all have with one another. Its beautiful to think that we all are one; we all are equal; and we are all loved and should spread love in return. As Paulo Coehlo put it, “we are all part of the soul of the Universe, and if we want something”with our whole heart the entire Universe conspires in our favor.” I do believe that we as humans do have a responsibility to one another and to ourselves to conspire to help others; to be conscience of everyone in their own walk of life.

I have learned a lot from just the couple of times circle dancing here. Each song and dance takes you on a little journey and it never really seems like you are just going around and around in circles.
