I spoke too soon… today was a lovely fall day. Did I mention that I love fall? Well, I do. The parks are beautiful; it seems the leaves changed color over night! Ah, what beauty surrounds us right now.
Ellen, the director of our volunteer program, and Sister Toby are here this week visiting us and observing the work we are involved with. The week will be spent taking them to every side of the city, giving them a little taste our experience here in Santiago.
This evening we ventured to the top of Cerro San Cristobal, the largest hill in the center of the city, as the sun was going down (we could not have timed it more perfectly if we had tried). We gazed upon the city with a beautiful, pink sunset as the backdrop beyond the mountains and a cool, brisk breeze at our faces. It was lovely.
So far, it has been a really good week and I am sure it will continue to be. I only hope we are able to enjoy such gorgeous fall days for a while longer. Although, we have heard rain is expected tomorrow, so we shall see.
